Within the PETE Project there is an executive team consisting of Presidents, Vice President/Treasurer, Secretary, Social Media Chair, Community Chair, Outreach Chair and StuCo Rep. Each position plays a unique and important role to promote success within the PETE Project and encourage involvement across campus and within the community.
The Presidents are the Student Academic Mentors of the PETE Project. They lead the participants in small group activities, lead executive team building meetings and model SAM values and expectations daily.
The Vice President will attend Homecoming planning meetings, reserve locations for executive meetings to be held, assist other executive members in purchases for the group, and assist the supervisor in creating a semester budget for events and programming.
Secretary will take minutes during all meetings, distribute minutes to the rest of the executive team and participants, complete necessary paperwork to sign the group up for campus wide activities and events and send out reminders to all participants about meetings dates, times and locations.
The PETE Project Social Media Chair will oversee all social media outlets for the organization. Social Media Chair will make posts and status updates to promote the organization and inform others of what the PETE Project does.
Outreach Chair will plan and organize events for the group to get involved with within the community. The Outreach chair will assemble a committee to help prepare and promote all events among the PETE Project participants. Events may consist of (but are not limited to) volunteering at Our Daily Bread, The Humane Society, with Into The Streets, and the Youth Center.
Community Chair is a fun position focused on promoting community among the participants. This position will create events to bring participants together for a fun and relaxing time. The Community Chair will create a committee to assist with all events.
Lastly, we have our Student Council Representative. The holder of this position will attend all Human Sciences Student Council Meetings and give an update about what the PETE Project has been up to. The representative will also take notes during StuCo meetings regarding announcements from other organizations and upcoming events. The representative will then report back to the PETE Project participants about upcoming ways to get involved within Human Sciences.
